What can I say? I'm a football fan. I know I write and Blog about football more than any other sport and the reason is...I'm a football fan. Yes I'll Blog about other Boston/New England Sports but only during the Playoffs. I admit, I'm more of a football fan than the other sports and look, I have no problem with any of you calling me a fair weather fan. I accept that title.



But as of right now, two of these teams above will be going to the Super Bowl. The BIGGEST Game on the planet. A game in which our New England Patriots went to 9 times under the Brady/Belichick era and came home with 6 Lombardi trophies. And yes, I will talk and write about the New England Patriots until my dying days. I'm warning you all now, I will Blog, write, yak, about the Patriots until my last breath. I know, we will never win another Super Bowl in my lifetime. But I'm cool with that. Go back and read what I wrote. We went the the BIG SHOW 9 times and won 6 titles. Some of these NFL teams like the LIONS have never been. So yeah, I'm gonna live off of that record.

I do want the LIONS to advance, as I REALLY want the RAVENS to SHUT UP those damn Chefs. Yes I wrote Chefs on purpose. You have all seen that TV spot where Andy Reid compliments the sign guy as he finished writing the team's name on the field? And then he asks "Who are the CHEFS?" The artist misspelled the team's name. Makes me chuckle every time I see it.

I'm just OVER Mahomie. He irritates me. Same with Kelce and his pop star girlfriend. I'm over them. I want to see the RAVENS beat the Chefs and the Lions beat the 49ers. And that's all I have to say about that. Except, I was really hoping the BUFFALO BILLS would have beat the Chefs last week. They had a chance (several times) and just flat out blew it. Oh well. We all know what that feels like.



I took this photo of this doe the other day. She was standing in my backyard just staring at me. We see her and her friends almost on a daily basis. They are fascinating creatures to observe. And, they taste really good too.

Ed O'Connell was one of the most loved surf photographers in New England. A US ARMY Vietnam Veteran who saved the lives of so many ARMY Grunts in Nam in 68-69 as a Medic on board those Dust Off Hueys. He was a dear friend of mine.

When he passed on July 1st, 2014 I swore I'd keep his memory and legacy alive by giving him this weekly corner. He loved surfing and he loved taking photos of all the surfers. Not just those who could really stand out. He shot every one. As long as I shall live and breathe the salt air, there will be a corner dedicated to Ed.

COMING THIS WINTER of 2024 (March/April). My book that I have been writing the last 10 years or so. Yes, there will be a book signing. And I will let you all know in advance, where and when. The book will be available in both hard cover and soft cover on AMAZON, BARNES & NOBLE, INGRAM, GOOGLE BOOKS, and KOBO PUBLISHING.

I'm pretty stoked about this project. 73 years in the making. So please be patient with me and stay tuned. The book is coming. It's just taking longer than I had originally anticipated. But it's coming.

THE VINNY BAND SUMMER OF 1980.
I was pleasantly surprised to find these photos in my actual mailbox last week. These are part of a dozen photos taken of my band VINNY in the summer of 1980. That's me in the black jeans and black SPIT Tee shirt. My brother Johnny in the white shirt and jeans, and the late Lester Eldridge in the striped tee shirt and jeans. *That's also my late father Gus Fatello standing up and behind us on stage with his camera. He used to go to a few of our shows and actually introduced the band on stage at the Paradise in Boston, MA. He was an artist, photographer, musician, veteran, father, grandfather and friend to many. I kept a daily Blog on my CATCH A WAVE FOR MOLLY surf campaign, when I surfed every single day for 365 consecutive days. Click on the Banner above to read entries of my daily journey. There's some really interesting and true experiences
that happened during that year. Some of which are to this day, unexplainable. Some are just mind blowing. But all true.

I started on July 26th, 2010 and ended on July 26th, 2011.

Some rainy Sunday, pour yourself a cup and go through the journal. Pay close attention to the month of May in 2011. Read that month and let me know what you think of that. Be forewarned it will change you forever.
